Advertised Vacancy Number: SS/TCH892766

Appointment Pool

Swan View Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

Swan View PS is seeking motived and enthusiastic teachers with the capacity to work in a spirit of collegiality, implementing evidence based, whole school approaches, in both Literacy and Numeracy. Differentiation is met by employing two strategic teaching dimensions; Inquiry Based Learning and Explicit Teaching. The suitable applicants will ideally have capacity to enhance students’ creative learning capabilities to increase engagement and support success.

Suitable applicants should exhibit a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum , Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard and Kindergarten Guidelines. Suitable applicants should use varied assessment to guide teaching and learning sequences. As a school we are currently focusing on collaboration, planning, observation and reflective practices. We are looking for staff who understand child development and how best to cater for development of the whole child. Strong behaviour management and an understanding of trauma informed practice is required and an ability to form positive relationships with students, parents and staff is highly regarded. Experience using Letters and Sounds is desirable.

Applicants should also possess the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing. Suitable applicants should be flexible, adaptive, and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.

Our staff work hard to be caring and nurturing as well as give students the opportunities to learn what the curriculum demands and life dictates. There is a balance of experience across the members of staff. We are a collaborative and supportive team and are interested in applicants who are willing to build and add value to our Early Childhood team.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.

The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
