Newton Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated, enthusiastic and caring Teachers - Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.
Suitable applicants will ideally be caring, team oriented, collaborative and professional teachers in a school of excellence. We require teachers who have a sound WA curriculum knowledge. To be suitable you should possess excellent communication, organisational and technology skills. Applicants will ideally be experienced in evidence-based teaching programs and possess proficient behaviour management skills.
Newton PS provides a supportive administration and Professional Learning Commnity (PLC) team structures. Our school has strong community networks. Students At Educational Risk (SAER) are well managed with a team of dedicated education assistants. We are a school who believes in growing the whole student. We are a collaborative and supportive staff, with a range of experience.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
