Job Description:
We are seeking a permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE) Design and Technology Teacher, to commence as soon as possible in our Senior School. You will be an experienced teacher with relevant qualifications and experience as a Teacher of Design and Technology.
The Design and Technology Teacher is adept at crafting and implementing dynamic curricula tailored to the unique requirements and passions of students spanning Years 7 to 12. Specialising in woodwork, metalwork, engineering (mechatronics), and Design and Digital Technologies studies, this role entails offering curriculum assistance for the creation of innovative programs while embracing fresh concepts. Proficiency in leveraging cutting-edge technologies and demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the design process are key aspects of this position.
Selection Criteria:
The successful applicant must:
- Be proficient in teaching Materials, Design and Technology classes across Year 7 to Year 12.
- Possess the ability to develop comprehensive lesson plans and conduct relevant assessment tasks.
- Stay abreast of curriculum advancements and pedagogical strategies to enrich student learning experiences.
- Have a working knowledge/understanding of current curriculum and relevant subject content.
- Have a good understanding of CAD software (preferably Fusion 360).
- Have a thorough understanding of program requirements and curriculum planning for students in Years 7 to 12 (including those with special needs).
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and show a genuine appreciation and commitment to pastoral care.
- Be a dynamic and successful classroom practitioner.
- Be a committed, enthusiastic and innovative member of staff.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and experience as a Teacher of Design and Technology, and with the ability to teach workshop subjects such as wood work and metal work.
- Be supportive of the ethos and values of the Anglican tradition of the School .
- Capacity and willingness to contribute to the School’s co-curricular program.
- Hold current Working with Children Check.
- Hold a current TRBWA registration.
- Have the right to work in Australia.
