Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a teacher of Design and Technology with the dedication and drive to develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
The successful applicant should be enthusiastic, creative and ideally have experience teaching Design Technology concepts with a focus on Woods, Metals and/or Automotive skills. The successful applicant should work with a team approach to contributing to and supporting the collaborative approach already in place to further develop a culture of excellence in the Design Technology teaching and learning program.
They should possess highly effective interpersonal skills, be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated. They should also have an inclusive approach with strong teaching and classroom management skills and the ability to challenge and engage all students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning.
Eastern Hills SHS is located on the outer margin of the metropolitan area serving communities within the Mundaring Shire and beyond including the Primary Schools of Chidlow, Sawyers Valley, Wooroloo, Parkerville, Mount Helena, Glen Forrest Mundaring, Darlington and Gidgegannup.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
