About the role

We are searching for the ideal candidate to join our dynamic teaching team in a permanent relief teaching role. In this role you will be a highly valued member of our staff supporting a variety of classes from and students across Kindy to year 6 throughout the week.  As a culturally responsive and inclusive school, one of your key priorities will include providing all students with opportunities to achieve success through education. 

This new role will suit teachers who are interested in teaching across many subject areas, have the ability to adapt to new environments quickly, and can flexibly move from classroom to classroom when needed during the school day. Being a team player and having strong communication skills with your colleagues and students will be essential attributes for success in this role. This role will also include supporting class teachers when not relieving in classes.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
