This is a full-time temporary position commencing Monday 15 July 2024. The position is a 6-month contract with a possibility of a longer fixed tenure. This position would be ideal for either a graduate looking for experience in an upper primary classroom or an experienced teacher considering a secondment.
St Denis School is a Catholic school within the Joondanna Parish. It is a single stream co-educational primary school with an enrolment of 260 students from Pre-Kindy to Year Six. It was originally opened in 1951 by the Servite Friars, together with the sisters of Mercy. The school maintains a close relationship with the Parish.
The professional staff of the school, collaborating with an involved and connected parent community, support the student’s learning in all aspects of the Australian Curriculum, with Religious Education as the foremost learning area. The Making Jesus Real way of life is firmly embedded within the school community.
Students are engaged in well-equipped contemporary learning classrooms including a 1:1 Digital Device program implemented in years four to six. The junior primary classes are well resourced with IT. There is an emphasis on differentiation in all classes, complimented through extension and support programs. There is a strong early intervention program featuring the St Denis wrap around health services.

1. An educator committed to excellence and fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
2. Strong knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and catering for individual needs.
3. Have knowledge of curriculum differentiation to adjust class programs to provide higher order thinking skills, open-ended tasks and personalised learning.
4. Excellent ICT skills and the ability to integrate 1:1 iPad technology effectively into classroom teaching and learning programs.
5. A willingness to contribute to the life of the school beyond the immediate classroom.
6. Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
7. Uses student data effectively to enhance student learning.
Qualifications Required
Applicants must include the following documentation with your Curriculum Vitae to be eligible for an interview:
1. A relevant four year tertiary qualification
2. Current Teacher Registration and Financial Status with the Teacher Registration Board (TRBWA).
3. Working towards or having an Accreditation to Teach Religious Education Certificate.
