Why this role matters The Salvation Army (TSA) provides a range of services around the country to support survivors of modern slavery, including the new Additional Referral Pathway program to identify and refer victim-survivors onto the Support for Trafficked People Program (STPP). The Additional Referral Pathway (ARP) will use a collaborative multi-agency approach to reach, screen and assess victim-survivors across Australia for referral to the STPP, while addressing immediate safety and welfare needs through short-term interventions.

The Additional Referral Pathway will be open for service delivery in July 2024. About the role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Team Leader to lead within the Salvation Army’s Additional Referral Pathway (ARP) program to support the journey to recovery for victim-survivors experiencing or escaping modern slavery.

Reporting to the ARP Manager this is a fixed term (18 months), full-time position based in Redfern, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 6. You will successfully Lead case management team and build productive relationships with consortium partner teams.

Provide expertise and guidance to the team on assessment, risk management and complex casework issues, providing debriefing and support as needed. Complete assessments as needed, allocate and oversee casework, manage systems in place for referrals, documentation and monthly data collection. Promote continuous quality improvement, identifying service needs and making recommendations for service delivery improvements to the ARP Manager.

Ensure our services are safe and inclusive for all people through implementing our National Family Violence & Modern Slavery Model of Care. Our Model of Care ensures our practice framework is intersectional, trauma and violence informed, person centered, culturally safe and child safe. Promote awareness of the ARP across TSA, the anti-slavery sector and the broader community, sharing information and implementing training where necessary.

You will have Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development. A current NSW Employee Working with Children Check.

A valid NSW Drivers Licence. Experience in the modern slavery/family violence/asylum seeker/refugee and/or migrant support service sector. Experience in supervision and team leading, managing and/or overseeing case management services.

Experience in identifying, developing, and working in partnership with others. Computer efficacy with experience in Email, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and client management systems . What we offer
