About the role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the newly formed Development and Asset Assurance Unit within the Transport Branch.

Working closely with the Unit Manager Development and Asset Assurance, the Team Leader Asset Assurance will manage the programs and activities of the team, ensuring they are carried out effectively, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner. They will lead proactive and reactive inspections to ensure compliance with the Road Management Plan (RMP), Transport Strategy, Customer Request System (CRS), and other regulatory requirements at construction sites. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing and implementing procedures, operational methodology, and action plans to achieve targets and drive continuous improvement within the Development and Asset Assurance Unit. 

Skills and experience require to perform the role

  • Qualification or experience in civil construction and/or traffic management, with an understanding of roadworks, inspections, and compliance in these areas.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration
  • Strong organisational skills to manage programs, activities, and resources efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and provide reports.
  • Strong skills to address issues related to inspections, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inspections, database management, and compliance.
