In order to continue to strengthen our impact in the community, we now have an opportunity for a Team Leader to join the FamilyCare team and provide leadership support to a team of Child and Family Practitioners in the Lower Hume Region. This position is part-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week (full-time negotiable for the right candidate), based at the FamilyCare Seymour office.
How You’ll Make a DifferenceThe Child and Family ServicesTeam Leader will be responsible for the day to day operation and administration of a team of Child and Family Practitioners and will ensure a child focused/strength based approach is used when supporting families.
You will do this by contributing to the overall services offered by FamilyCare and to the improvement and ongoing provision of quality family support services delivered through FamilyCare.
Some of the day to day duties may include:
- Lead a team to achieve positive outcomes for clients and meet agency standards and guidelines.
- Participate in the planning of the Child and Family Services Program.
- Ensure program and client records are maintained according to established agency policies and procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of Early Intervention approaches within Child and Family Services required.

The Tools You'll NeedTo be considered for this role, you must hold at a minimum, a Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma related to social welfare practice and supervision experience is desirable.
Critical to your success in this role will also be:
- Sound knowledge of theoretical and practice frameworks relating to child development, trauma and attachment.
- Ability to lead and train staff in the assessment of children and families needs in order to develop and implement appropriate action plans.
- An understanding of the child protection system and the ability to liaise with members of the child protection team.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with a range of people including but not limited to government, statutory bodies and clients.
- Willingness to obtain a valid Working With Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencing employment with us. If you have spent over 12 months overseas in the last 10 years, you will also be required to undergo an International Police Check or present evidence of a satisfactory check
- Minimum 2 doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and a valid Australian Driver Licence
