Your new role
As the Team Leader, Claims you will lead the Bereavements team to deliver timely, high quality case management services to the families and loved ones of deceased members while displaying compassion and empathyat all stages of the process.
You will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to a team of case and senior case managers, support the team with identifying training needs, ensuring the team are following correct processes and procedures to allow them to meet service expectations in an efficient and effective manner.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Motivate and inspire the team by demonstrating commitment to the Fund’svalues, decision pillarsand leadership principles.
- Ensure our Members First culture is consistently and firmly embedded across the team.
- Demonstrate and deliver activeoperations management balancingthe cost, quality,and service to provide an improved level of service and experience for Members
- Actively monitorand ensure the bereavement team deliver to the expectedservice delivery and quality standard.
- Ensure ways of working,business rules, policies,and procedures are utilised and adhered to by the team.
- Nurture and maintain internalrelationships with peers and across all levels of the Fund
- Participate and deliverto the team’s business plan.
- Ensure the team has adequate resources and culture to meet goals and operational plans of AustralianSuper - right people, right place, right skills, at the right time.
What you’ll need
- Extensive industryexperience in a seniorclaims management role in superannuation or insurance.
- Experience with leading teams through change
- RG146 compliant
- Specialist knowledge of AustralianSuper Trust Deed, insurancepolicies and Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act (SIS Act) Legislation.
- High levelof Operations Management skills and abilityto manage operational teams to buildhighly engaged and productive teams.
- Well-developed management skills including the ability to manage a large numberand variety of tasks at the same time.
- Extensive experience in workingunder pressure, settingand manage multipleconflicting priorities and meeting specified timeframes.
- Well-developed writtenand oral communication/ interpersonal skills with the abilityto present ideas, perspectives, and issues to senior management.
