At Diverse Business Consultants we are a fully remote team providing Xero bookkeeping, training and cloud consulting services to businesses throughout Australia. We are proud of our status as Xero Platinum Partners and have an enviable client base with some really cool thriving businesses.
We are on a fast growth trajectory through a combination of business acquisitions, new business enquiries and heaps of client referrals (because ahem ...our client’s love our quality service, experience and the dynamic way we run our business!)
We are therefore looking for an experienced senior bookkeeper to join us and take over the team management of one of our four bookkeeping teams. This role will be working primarily on Xero with a few MYOB clients.
This role will report directly to the Founder & Director and you’ll quickly become a trusted and influential member of the senior management team.

About the Role
This is a busy role where you will have the flexibility to Work from Home, our satellite office and meet with your clients on-site (location dependent).
The position can be either full time or part time across 5 days to suit the right candidate. We are proud of our flexible working environment and welcome innovative discussions on all flexible working arrangements that result in the job getting done AND an epic person joining our team.
This is the perfect blend of an autonomous role where you get to manage your time and priorities (similar to working for yourself) but enjoy the security and stability of working within a growing business and the energetic benefits of working with a team.
Specifically in this role you will be:
- Providing client services management to a diverse range of clients ranging between very large and small business - including relationship and service delivery management of existing clients and meeting with new clients to scope their needs.
- Managing a team of 3-5 part time bookkeepers on a day to day basis, taking a lead role in reviewing their work, providing feedback and using your experience to develop their knowledge.
- Holding full responsibility for workflow and work completion of your team, including capacity planning, scheduling their work and making sure that client deadlines are met ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service.
- Providing hands on bookkeeping services for your set of clients within the portfolio or stepping in to support as required.
- Holding full responsibility for the preparation and lodgement of compliance obligations for your team’s client portfolio.

To be successful in this position you will have:
Essential attributes
- A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience across a range of different businesses and a strong knowledge of bookkeeping foundations
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of Xero (& some familiarity with MYOB)
- Good business acumen and a genuine interest in small business and a natural ability to connect with small business owners
- Strong administration, time management and organisational skills
- A natural high attention to detail
- Previous experience in a team management role is ideal, however a genuine love of people is essential, as is an excellent interpersonal skills and interest in training, leading and developing people
- Impeccable written and personal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in technology and innovation, including specific experience using a range of technology including GSuite, Zoom Meetings, Hubdoc, Dext, etc…
- Your own transport that you are willing to use for office and client travel (location dependent).
