Your New CareerThe Lorne VIC Team Leader role is to lead the visitor experience through showcasing the best tourism products within in our region.
What you will bring to the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Team Leader dedicated to making a positive impact on visitors to our thriving region.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A broad knowledge of local tourism products and activities
- Ability to supervise a team including volunteers
- Well-developed organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and contribute to the delivery of projects
- Ability to work with key internal and external stakeholders
- An understanding of the wider tourism industry, including eco tourism.
Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the tourism industry for VICs.
- Experience managing annual operational budgets.
- Satisfactory completion of a TAFE accredited/industry based training course or sufficient knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
- Be able to recommend solutions using knowledge, experience and creative problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of computer packages including Microsoft Office and database programs.
- Ability to provide supervision of other staff and volunteers and provide on-the-job training.
- Well-developed written skills are necessary in assisting with procedural formulation and producing activity reports.
- Highly developed verbal skills and an outgoing personality are required to effectively promote tourism activity to the general public.
- A current Working With Children Check.
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council). A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in Local Government.
- Experience in tourism or marketing.
