Team Leader - Richmond Youth Hub

Temporary Full Time - 12 months (Starting as soon as possible until 30th June 2025)

Band 6 - $92,991.03 - $101,235.97 per annum (pro-rata) + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full 38 hours per week only)

Yarra Youth Services has an opportunity for a person with relevant youth work and leadership experience to join lead the Richmond Youth Hub. The Team LeaderRichmond Youth Hub plays a lead role in coordinating services at the Richmond Youth Hub, contributing to the vision for the facility; that young people living on the Richmond Housing Estate are engaged, inspired and feel part of the community through a range of programs, events and support.

Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the design, development and delivery of programs and activities at the Richmond Youth Hub, in partnership with local youth-focused organisations.
  • Providing high quality leadership, support, and supervision to staff working at the Richmond Youth Hub
  • Building and maintaining positive links and working relationships with key local stakeholders in the North Richmond precinct, including State Government, other Council units, schools, and local community organisations and service providers, to ensure that programs and services are coordinated, and respond to the needs of the local community.
  • Ensuring young people have ownership of the Richmond Youth Hub, through regular opportunities to build their own leadership and advocacy skills, and co-design programs, services and other elements of the site.
  • Managing the operational resources and budget for the Richmond Youth Hub.
  • Providing operational and strategic advice to the Coordinator, Youth and Middle Years in the planning and development of the Youth and Middle Years Unit, and participate in Family, Youth and Children’s Services branch leadership activities.
  • Driving and facilitating the development and maintenance of positive culture and innovation within the Youth and Middle Years Unit

  • Proven experience in youth development and program coordination.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to connect with young people, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • A commitment to social justice and equity, and a deep understanding of the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Budget management experience.
  • A passion for creating a thriving and inclusive youth space.
