Overview
Your Role
We are currently seeking a Team Leader to join our Medical Negligence Liability team located in Sydney CBD. Working with the Leadership and Management team, this role will see you provide day-to-day leadership and technical mentoring to your team ensuring the delivery of a cost effective, professional and customer focused claims service, whilst developing staff and implementing quality initiatives. This role has a significant focus on leadership, customer service and continuous improvement.
This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with WFH flexibility.

As our Medical NegligenceTeam Leader with exposure to General Insurance who is looking to further grow, develop and solidify their career within our Global Brand, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and direction and manage the day to day operations of the team
- Assess present and future needs, trends, problems for your business unit
- Review staff performance and provide training and coaching where required
- Build and develop strong working relationships with our Clients
- Prepare and analyse management reports
- Act as the escalation point for the team in relation to claims enquiries
- Manage the associated risk, governance and compliance within the team
- Set priorities and plan workload of the team
- Manage daily workflow in order to maintain client service standards – Internal and External
- Provide escalation point to team following complaints and/or technical queries
- Attendance at stakeholder meetings/negotiations/conferences/phone calls when required
About you
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:
- At least 7 years of Claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity with 3 years’ leading and/or mentoring experience
- Industry specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable)
- Desired: strong technical expertise in Products Liability and/or Professional Indemnity claims handling with and understanding of Health claims process
- Complex claims management within Medical Malpractice
- Experience in relationship building and stakeholder management
- Strong level of interpersonal skills
- Strong business acumen
- Experience in achieving business targets
- Negotiation skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Liability Claims Management / General Insurance principles
