Are you a skilled and experienced mechanic with leadership qualities? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Mechanical Workshop Team Leader at our Mirani Depot.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and workshop staff to ensure the effective operation of the mechanical workshop.
• Provide competent on-the-job supervision of the Workshop Mechanical staff at Mirani with the view to attaining the required standards of plant maintenance and availability.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily tasks, repairs, and maintenance activities to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on complex repairs and diagnostics.
• Monitor inventory levels, order parts and materials, and maintain accurate records of equipment and maintenance history.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, procedures, and standards, promoting a culture of safety within the workshop.

Requirements:

• Trade qualification as a mechanic (Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a similar role, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic abilities across a range of vehicles and machinery.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and practices.
• Current driver's license (minimum requirement: C class).

• Base annual salary $71,115 + Applicable Allowances
• Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
