We operate a road safety enforcement program in Tasmania for a State Government contract and are recruiting a Mobile Roadside Operator (MRO) Team Leader to oversees the operation of the northern depots in the delivery of the road safety enforcement.
The duties of this role include:
- Manage the operations of the northern Depots to ensure that services are delivered efficiently to meet the ATOEP contract deliverables and KPIs
- Manage and facilitate the exchange of vehicles, trailers and speed enforcement equipment between depots as required
- Ensure that SGA vehicles and trailers are maintained and serviced in accordance with maintenance and servicing regimes
- Ensure MRO compliance with SGA’s corporate policies and procedures
- Provide advice, support and guidance to MROs on dealing with the general public and other operational issues
- Proactively raise operational issues with management that may require senior management involvement or decision-making
- Setup and operate all camera equipment in accordance with Tasmanian Government legislation, regulations and guidelines and SGA procedures
- Evaluation and identification of suitable camera set up locations
- Conducting pre-verification checks of mobile speed enforcement sessions
- Ensuring the safety of other MROs while working in the office
- Data input into online computer systems
The candidate should have the following skills and attributes:

- Very good IT skills, including typing and using multiple screens
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to strictly follow company policies and procedures
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Clear communication skills including verbal and written
- Ability to interact with members of the public to resolve tense situations
- Manual dexterity and being comfortable towing and setting up a trailer
- Flexibility to work a changing roster including public holidays and Saturdays
- Flexibility to pick up spare shifts at short notice
- Confidently perform well under pressure
- Being comfortable working alone in rural or remote locations
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time in a vehicle

Employment includes a 6 months probation period
