This position is classified as a PACS Band 7 ($85,987 - $94,294 per annum) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

A rare vacancy exists for a motivated, experienced and driven individual to lead our new-look Ranger team at the City of Kwinana. Leading a team of like-minded professionals, you will be responsible for achieving compliance in the delivery of local law enforcement, with an outstanding customer service approach and a dedication to providing our community with effective regulatory services.
As an ambassador of the Council, you will showcase your elite customer service, conflict resolution and problem solving capabilities in this challenging and varied role. The successful candidate will be accountable for the work of the Rangers team, ensuring that all outcomes are delivered to a high-quality standard and are consistent with the objectives of the Essential Services department.
What You’ll Need
To make an impact as our new Team Leader Rangers you will have…
- Considerable experience as a Ranger in a local government.
- Extensive experience in local government law interpretation, enforcement, investigation, and prosecution.
- High-level of interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions and stay objective and calm under pressure and in challenging situations.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate, lead and supervise a team and operate effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to exercise professional judgement in a lawful and accountable way.
- Intermediate level of computer skills and knowledge.
- Possession of a Municipal Law Enforcement Certificate (A and B) or Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS 1 and 2).
- Possession of a current driver’s licence, Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate.
- Desirable - Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and Certificate in Firearms Handling and Safety and proficiency in the use of firearms.
- Desirable - Certification as a Bush Fire Control Officer.
