Key responsibilities:

  • You will provide leadership and management to Justice & Intervention program staff, such as allocating tasks and responsibilities, facilitate effective communication, teamwork, managing leave requests and timesheets, and provide guidance and feedback, in conjunction with supervisions, and monthly reports.
  • You will ensure team members are aware of program goals, objective and timelines. As well as implement systems to monitor progress and performance, report on program status, achieved objections and potential risks. 
  • You will foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, communicating progress, outcomes, and feedback to and from stakeholders to improve program effectiveness.
  • You will monitor and manage programs brokerage budgets, prepare and provide progress reports, and conduct audits for compliance.
  • You will identify skill gaps within the team and provide training opportunities to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • You will maintain a small caseload, in the discipline of Social, Emotional & Wellbeing  services delivery area and provide support to specific client cohort and ensure program activities align with broader objectives and services. 
  • You will promote and integrate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety practices within program activities.

Essential

  • Experience in leadership roles working within a case management framework. 
  • It is desirable to hold qualifications in Community Services, Social Work or Mental Health.
  • Experience in a case management role, ideally within a clinical environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures preferably with established links to the local community
  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • Victorian Working with Children Check
  • Victorian Police Check that doesn’t disclose any serious offences, and an ability to maintain currency over the duration of the employment contract.

  • Promote individual accountability and responsibility through delegation skills based on assessments of team members strengths and skills.

We are a Community Controlled Organisation (Not-for-profit) that has been servicing the Aboriginal and/Torres Strait Islander community since 1994 when it was established by local Aboriginal Community Members. The purpose of MAC was and continues to be promotion of a healthy and proud community through motivation, education and cultural acknowledgement while ensuring a sense of belonging. MAC has grown to over 30 staff members and is projected to grow exponentially over the coming years. 

As MAC’s Justice & Intervention Team Leader you will report to the Program Manager, and have a team of five direct reports. You will contribute positively to the multi-disciplinary Justice & Intervention program and engage and build external relationships with local stakeholders and agencies, with the common purpose of developing and improving programs objectives to advance Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander access and improve community justice and interventions.
