Student Wellbeing Officer required at Staughton College Melton South to join a dynamic, strategic, effective team delivering excellence in the outer west.
The Wellbeing Co-ordinator will lead a school based multidisciplinary team, in effectively managing the provision of wellbeing services to the school community. This will include but is not limited to: leading team meetings, triage and allocation of support, liaison with external providers and agencies, working closely with the school leadership team to support the school in achieving Strategic plan and Annual Implementation Plan wellbeing and engagement targets and co-ordinating education programs and social outreach.
Professional qualifications in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work or relevant Allied Health field are required for this position.
Responsibilities
1. Act in accordance with school, DE, and legislative requirements at all times.
2. Regularly review and update policies which guide the day-to-day activities of the school’s health and Wellbeing Team, including processes relating to referral (internal and external), consent, documentation, case load, information sharing with external organisations, and meetings.
3. Regularly collaborate with the Principal Class Officers (PCO) team, Secondary School Nurse, and Mental Health Practitioner to plan, develop, and lead the school’s strategy to improve the health and wellbeing of all students.
4. Promote a culture of responsiveness, support, transparency, accountability, respect and leadership within the health and Wellbeing Team.
5. Fulfil any other duties which might be assigned by the PCO team, reporting directly to the AP for wellbeing and student management.
6. Maintain and develop partnerships with health and wellbeing services within and outside the Department of Education to maximise student and family access to these services.
7. Act as the line manager for all members of the Wellbeing Team, overseeing their daily activities and their professional development.
8. Coordinate and/or directly contribute to the professional development of all school staff members in the area of student health and wellbeing.
9. Regularly engage in own professional development.
10. Where necessary, provide direct counselling, case management, crisis support, and/or risk assessment/safety planning for students referred for support from the health and Wellbeing Team.
Full Time salary range- $91k-$107k
