What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the team in the Emergency Department working in the role of Technical Assistant. This role is Permanent part time and working 4 days a week.
Within this role you will be assisting medical and nursing staff under the direction of the senior medical officer and nursing team leader in technical procedures and associated tasks. You will be readily available in this fast paced environment to provide assistance with procedures subject to appropriate training and credentialing such as venepuncture, intravenous cannulation and other technical procedures.
You will have the ability to take direction and be tasked by senior ED staff and communicate with staff regarding laboratory results by using Powerchart and Data Entry.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Well-developed time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with set deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated good communication skills in English and the ability to read and understand essential documentation.
- Previous experience in health care and/or education in health related field.
- Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills.
- Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/ seven-day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays, able to work reasonable overtime.
