Full time, fixed term role until April 2025, based in NarrabriExcellent opportunity to provide technical and research support in the laboratory, glasshouses, field and TSS managed spacesBase Salary $77,144 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe Central Operations Services (COS) team is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Technical Assistant to join their high performing team. In this role, you will be utilizing your technical skills to provide research assistance in the laboratory, glasshouses, field and TSS managed spaces.You will prepare and assist with experiments and practicals. You may also assist with the collection and analysis of data.Your key responsibilities will be to:provide technical support and research assistance to staff, students, researchers, and other technical staff in the laboratory, glasshouses, field and TSS managed spaces.prepare the laboratory for experiments, practicals, and tutorials in accordance with scientific protocolsassist with experiments in collaboration with researchers, students, and/or other technical stafftrain staff, visitors, and students in the safe operation of laboratory equipmentundertake or coordinate cleaning and sterilisation of laboratory items, materials, tools, and equipmentmaintain laboratory supplies and equipment, including coordinating maintenance and repairsassist with the safe and appropriate storage and disposal of hazardous substancessupport the maintenance of a clean and safe laboratory land TSS managed spaces environment, compliant with health and safety requirementsassist with the preparation of diverse scientific documentation and applications, including data collection and analysisundertake other duties and projects appropriate within the classification level as required.About youdemonstrated experience using databases and/or statistical analysis programsdemonstrated experience within a laboratoryexperience implementing safety requirementsexperience with handling hazardous substances.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
