Our client requires an experienced Technical Business Analyst, with a strong knowledge of business analysis techniques and a technical background, to co-ordinate and support processes and resources to achieve the outcomes of assigned projects, to satisfy multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
Some of the responsibilities anticipated as part of this engagement include:
- Manage scope for assigned products to ensure business expectations remaining in alignment with approved Program objectives;
- Manage engagement with SMEs (both internal and external) to gather, validate and verify data migration requirements;
- Confirming and analysing business users' requirements and developing the criteria which will form the basis for the assessment, sourcing and / or development of appropriate solutions to satisfy the business user's data migration requirements including substantial data related deliverables;
- Report on progress status in alignment with Program milestones, tolerances and reporting channels;
- Analyse large datasets for data migration purposes, utilising SQL queries and associated tools to assist with review and reconciliation;
- Ability to create and maintain SQL queries as aligned with performance guidelines;
- Complete code review activities for development team, including review of performance and adherence to coding standards;
- Assist with the maintenance of the project Requirements Traceability Matrix through to deployment;
- Provide support in managing IT contractors and consultants; and
- Ensure work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legal responsibilities in accordance with standard work practices.
The role is ideally suited to someone who has:
- Five or more years' experience in a Business Analysis role in large, complex environments;
- Strong expertise performing data migration activities;
- Maturity in effort estimation for data migration activities;
- Strong expertise converting business requirements into functional specifications;
- Strong experience defining business process models and information / data models including 'as is' and 'to be' utilising appropriate notations (sch as BPMN, UML etc);
- End-to-end program and project delivery experience; and
- Operating in a Program Delivery Stream under a matrix structure.

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of Business Analysis techniques to gather and convert business requirements into functional specifications for large and / or complex environments;
- Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to engage with technical resources, senior execute team and external vendors / partners;
- Proven strong experience in drawing accurate and effective business process models and information / data models including 'as is' and 'to be' utilising appropriate notations;
- Ability to elicit business information from others, document and present it clearly articulating issues and proposed solutions, in a dynamic / changing environment; and
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication skills) with business and technical stakeholders, senior management and project team members.
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrated experience working on projects leveraging a variety of development / delivery methodologies;
- Understanding of market systems and how they interact with each other; and
- Experience with the following system types: Customer Information Systems, Meter Data Management systems, Billing Systems.
Experience and / or knowledge from working with similar initiatives such as:
- Customer Information Systems;
- CRM;
- Meter Data Management systems; and
- Billing Systems.
Understanding of:
- Market transactions;
- E2E Customer and Market processes;
- Customer job types; and
- AEMO market rules.
The position of Technical Business Analyst reports to the Business Analysis & Initiation Lead.
