Almondco Australia Ltd is a well-established, grower-owned business that has become a leader in the international market with its extensive range of quality almond-based products. As a bulk processing and marketing business with dedicated state-of-the-art processing facilities located in South Australia and New South Wales, ‘Almondco’ branded almond products are highly respected and sought after.
The business is in an exciting period of growth and is seeking to appoint a Technical Coordinator – QA at our secondary processing site in Renmark. This is a full time, permanent position reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor Almondco’s Food Safety & Quality Program,
- Ensure compliance with and effectiveness of the food safety program, including all prerequisite programs, CCPs, QCPs & RCPs,
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to discuss/present food safety and quality standards/issues,
- Implement and maintain compliance at the highest level with all applicable regulatory and customer standards e.g. HACCP, BRC, Organic, WQA, and customer audits,
- Coordinate quality equipment calibration and validation,
- Facilitate external audits and participate as required,
- Actively maintain the QA records and filing systems to always ensure their completeness and accuracy,
- Timely reporting of the status of all CARs and ensure they are in accordance with defined rectification timelines.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Quality Assurance or other relevant qualification,
- 3-5 years’ experience in food manufacturing and microbiological testing facility,
- Knowledge of ISO, HACCP and BRC Food Safety standards and relevant legislation for the food industry,
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail,
- Strong written and communication skills,
- Intermediate MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills,
- Ability to prioritise tasks, handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment,
- An understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
