Hudson is seeking a highly skilled Technical Data Lead to support the efficient functioning of a large Government organisation. The Corporate Services division is comprised of the Executive Services, Strategic Communications and Corporate Services teams which includes Human Resources, Finance and Facilities, Procurement, Strategy and Governance, and ICT.
KEY RESPONISBILITIES
- Lead the development, implementation, and governance of data standards, policies, and frameworks.
- Direct successful delivery of the VIPS Project, guiding the program towards best practices in data governance.
- Collaborate with VMT Projects to establish uniform solutions for data definition, transformation, classification, archiving, disposal, and obfuscation.
- Serve as the primary contact for data governance, ensuring adherence to standards and addressing issues related to governance and data quality.
- Build program understanding of data governance, ownership, and enablement, facilitating stakeholder adoption of new frameworks.
- Facilitate the successful use of new Data Lake technology across VMT Projects.
- Plan and execute data management initiatives that enhance overall data management capabilities.
- Support the transition of the data governance framework to its ongoing owner within DYJESBT.
- Provide advice to support strong governance, stakeholder analysis, information needs, and risk minimization.
- Provide leadership to other team members in a busy work environment.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in establishing and implementing data governance frameworks.
- Ability to lead and manage data and analytics standards and practices.
- Strong background in managing data quality issues.
- Collaboration and leadership skills.
- Experience in Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Purview).
- Previous advisory services experience in data governance.
- Proven track record of participating in projects similar to the VIPS Project.
- In-depth knowledge of the entire data lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience ensuring compliance with data management standards and regulations.
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience in data modelling, analysis, and business intelligence.
- Knowledge and/or experience in technical environments, analytical tools, and programs.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar qualification.
- Desirable experience in implementing metadata, business glossary, and data quality tools.
- Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive cultural change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
