SalaryOur client is market leading manufacturer of Kiosk Substations and LV Switchboards for the power utility industry nationally. Due to continued growth and demand, they are seeking a Technical Estimator, based on Brisbane’s south side.
The position focus on providing solutions to customers' underground network needs. This involves staying abreast of customers' underground electricity network designs and procedures, and communicating this detail in-house so that solutions to customers' problems can be developed. Communicating with the engineering and production teams is necessary to ensure fit for purpose solutions are delivered promptly.
Duties include:
- Existing customer relationship management.
- Communicate with suppliers, obtain quotes & select switchgear to maximise profitability.
- Coordinate the entry of sales orders.
- Liaise with engineering on design/handover for non-contract item/project orders.
- Assist with the preparation of tenders.
- Gain an understanding of customer's distribution networks & standards.
- An electrical engineering or trade qualification is mandatory.
- Switchboard experience and knowledge of the transmission and distribution market nationally are preferred.
- Reliable, hardworking and honest.
- The desire to learn and develop is ESSENTIAL!
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
