Primary objective
Provide technical advice and assistance in support of the provision of electronic surveillance collection and monitoring
systems, including hardware and software support, systems and network administration.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide advice, information and technical support to users of the electronic surveillance collection and delivery systems.
2. Assist, as part of a team, in managing and maintaining technical aspects of the electronic surveillance collection
equipment including ICT in general and internet protocols in particular.
3. Liaise with system vendors to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all electronic surveillance product and to
ensure new and emerging technologies are investigated, reviewed and evaluated for more efficient and effective work
practices and includes the commissioning of and testing new equipment for operational use as required.
4. Diagnose and resolve faults in the electronic surveillance collection and delivery systems and manage, maintain and
operate systems associated with the preparation and verification of evidence.
5. Assists in the maintenance of the inventory of electronic assets.
Selection criteria
Essential
Must be able to demonstrate –
1. Knowledge and experience in ICT Systems, with ability to deliver professional, technology enabled, workplace
outcomes.
2. Sound knowledge and experience in electronic equipment and electronic data collection systems and the configuration,
analysis and troubleshooting of routers and security related products.
3. Sound knowledge of, and ability to use, computer programs including specialist equipment Graphical User Interfaces,
(GUI), to achieve workplace outcomes.
4. Understanding of the Australian Telecommunications environment.
5. High level of interpersonal communication skills, ability to work both independently and within a team, establish
priorities, set and maintain deadlines and the ability to research, analyse and prepare concise and accurate reports.
6. Possession of a very high standard of personal integrity and confidentiality.
7. Hold a security clearance at Negative Vetted Level 2 (NV2) or be willing and able to obtain one.
Desirable
1. Completion of Year 12 secondary education and tertiary qualifications in Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) Systems or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in the use and maintenance of electronic surveillance devices and electronic surveillance collection
systems
3. Experience in a police organisation.
