Technical Officer

De Grey Mining has an opportunity for a Technical Officerto join the team. Situated on a 16/12 roster, you will be reporting to the Hydrogeology Manager where you will assist the Hydrogeology and Environmental teams in their everyday groundwater operational activities.

This includes remote and site-based groundwater/surface water-related infrastructure such as monitoring bores/sites, dewatering and injection bore fields, sampling and monitoring programs, data entry, and QA/QC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Hydrogeology and Environmental team in meeting everyday groundwater operational activities, including remote and site-based monitoring.
• Plan and implement site-based groundwater projects, including water sampling, bore cleaning and monitoring.
• Collate water quality data from existing infrastructure and monitoring installations.
• Implement groundwater drilling programs.
• Maintain groundwater dewatering and injection infrastructure and site safety improvements.
• Engage and supervise contractors.
• Perform data entry and database maintenance.
• Other tasks as required by the business or as directed by your manager.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent degree.
• Ability to manage your own time effectively.
• Data literate.
• Ability to build good relationships.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dispersed team.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Manual C Class Driver?s License.
• About to obtain a national police clearance.
