About Us

Join our dynamic team as a Technical Officer specialising in Food Science and Nutrition. You will be an integral part of our Microbiology and Immunology team, overseeing the operation and upkeep of our teaching laboratories. Collaborating closely with our Food Science and Nutrition academic team, you will play a vital role in preparing, developing, designing and executing experiments. Whether you are engaged in teaching, research endeavours or external partnerships our group ensures that the technical demands of the University community are met with excellence.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate Technical Officer to join our team at the Murdoch Food Centre located in Namebeelup. You will be at the forefront of innovation in Food Science and Nutrition, where you will spearhead the organisation and help support dynamic practical teaching units. As a pivotal member of the school of Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences, you will specialise in Food Science and Nutrition within the Microbiology and Immunology technical support team.

What you'll bring to this role

• A degree in Food Science and Nutrition or closely related area with at least two years relevant; or specialist expertise and knowledge of technical science; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  
• Knowledge in the field of Food Science and Nutrition with experience in food chemistry and analysis.
  
• Understanding of the theoretical principles and techniques used in Food Science and Nutrition.
  
• Organisational, time and workload management skills.
  
• High level of computer literacy and proficiency in the production of high-level work using software such as Microsoft Office application and specified University software programs.
  
• Current C Class driver's licence.
