We offer more than 400 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM)/Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and short courses.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be accountable for providing technical support, advice, and recommendations to ensure the effective operations of Plumbing programs, including Certificate II, III, IV and the VBA Registrations examinations, Fee for Service and Short Courses across all delivery campuses.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
  • Support the diverse demands for preparatory procedures and practices for government funded and fee for service courses.
  • Ensure the appropriate allocation of Plumbing materials and resources are provided to support delivery of programs within the specific industry areas.
  • Provide general assistance in the maintenance and setting up for classroom activities including gallery spaces, for all Plumbing programs.
  • Provide technical support in the promotion of regular Plumbing activities, events and exhibitions, internal and external to the institute.
  • Ensuring correct Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) practices and procedures are maintained in accordance with legislation.
  • Liaise with the OH&S representative for the Plumbing area and respond to the procedures set out within Institute and government guidelines.
  • Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from violence & aggression, bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination.
ABOUT YOU
You will have relevant Vocational Qualification within the Plumbing trade with substantial experience and knowledge gained from the Plumbing industry.
Crucial to your success will be the ability to carry out hands on technical activities, coupled with demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools (such as power tools) and demonstrated computer skills across systems including Microsoft suite, and finance systems for ordering and procurement.
You are a highly motivated Technical Officer with experience in working within the Vocational Education and Training sector.
