ABOUT THE ROLE
Working with the Online Learning team who designs, builds, uploads and maintains learning materials and other resources that are delivered through our Student Learning portal, the Technical Support Officer, Learning Platform is responsible for supporting the Learning Management System and associated technologies. The position is tailor-made for an inquisitive and detail-oriented problem solver who can provide high levels of service and support to AIB stakeholders within the context of wholly online educational programs.
The primary responsibilities of the role are:
• Ongoing support and ongoing maintenance of critical learning management systems.
• Assist and provide Service Desk and 1st level support for the Learning Platform and associated environments.
• Perform Quality Assurance checks on courses.
• Capture stakeholder requirements for new technologies, investigate and report on how well those technologies meet requirements and are fit for purpose.
• Develop and implement test plans: identify, design and develop associated test cases.
• Support the Educational Technologist in staying abreast of new educational technologies for potential future implementation.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a highly motivated professional with capability to work under pressure, have excellent customer service skills with an outstanding customer service ethic. You will have proven abilities as a trouble-shooter with strong attention-to-detail and highly developed problem-solving skills, along with the ability to document and communicate technical issues in a clear and effective manner.
Ideally you will have experience with Learning Management Systems used in online educational programs e.g. Moodle. Experience in Technical Support and problem-solving for end users, websites and web technologies and all aspects of QA and testing including developing test plans. HTML, H5P and CSS development knowledge is a must and an understanding of educational development tools and processes is desirable.
