About the role
The Technical Writer supports the development and drafting of Standards and other types of documents across a wide range of subject areas and have the ability to work closely with stakeholders to determine the clearest, and most logical way, to present technical content for greatest reader comprehension.
What you'll do
- Develop content for draft Australian Standards and other documents across all project stages
- Have accountability for the working draft
- Develop drafts in consultation with technical experts
- Interpret verbal and written technical content to draft in a way that is appropriate for the intended audience
- Ensure that the structure, content and language is in line with Standards Australia’s Guides, Procedures and House Style
- Address any feedback provided by Standards Australia Publishing Services team
- Lead the Drafting Team in the review and resolution of Public Comments on the working draft
- Collaborate with committee members to facilitate discussions and manage technical issues
- Work effectively with Standards Australia Project Managers and Publishing Services team to develop high quality documents and escalate unresolved issues
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timeframes and scope parameters as per Standards Australia’s project management methodology
- Develop the drafting schedule in consultation with the Project Manager the Technical Writer
- University degree, or other relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical writing
- Communicate information clearly, concisely and accurately
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively
- Manage competing priorities
