About the Role
Reporting into the Manager of Technology & Improvement Minerals, Tronox is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of T&I Projects Lead - Minerals.
This is a senior leadership role managing the capital project plan across the Minerals sites in Australia. The function provides improvement to the business through capital project management and the development & implementation of key business Improvement Projects.
The Lead will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and administering the multi-year capital plan for the mineral sites in Australia.
- Interface with the Operations to ensure all projects are effectively scoped, scheduled, and executed.
- Coordinates the delivery of all project results by keeping project managers focused on project objectives.
- Ensures each project team has project success criteria for each stage of the project and coordinates site gate approvals throughout the Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Process.
- Maintains the site project portfolio up to date with supporting business cases in accordance with the Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Process.
- Proactively manages changes in scope, schedule, budget, or resources.
- Ensures cost control of projects is undertaken and reported monthly regarding cost, progress/status, and SHE performance.
- Ensures that all project activities are undertaken to minimise impact to production.
- Provides suitable technical support from within the department or via external consultants to all departments in response to Operational requirements.
- Strategic direction setting and driving of team performance to deliver tangible outcomes to the business.
- Management of the drafting resources at Northern Operations.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will need to possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- The highest regard for safe work practices.
- The ability to communicate, network and build relationships with other business functions.
- A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
- Willingness to travel between the various mineral sites in the region.
Advantageous to your application:

- Knowledge of capital project processes and business case development.
- Experience in Capital budget preparation.
- 10+ Years experience in a related industry.
