Join our team as the Events Operations Manager at The Star Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.
The Events Operations Manager, reporting to the Director of Events offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the delivery and logistics of our events. You will oversee the execution of conferences and exhibitions, delivering exceptional client and guest experiences, all whilst leading a large team.

A few of your responsibilities
- Analysing profit and loss information which includes sales, costs, labour cost to provide efficient improvements
- Assist the Event Planning Manager with the guest experience and business operations
- Collaborate with event planners to implement event strategy, ideas, and enhancements to benefit the guest’s experience
- Verify that all information presented on Event Orders is operationally sound, escalating any inconsistencies in floor plans, logistics or delivery
- Lead and support the Assistant Managers, on workforce planning including recruitment, training, and development
What we will be looking for
- Extensive leadership experience in a high-volume event/conference centre with the ability to quickly resolve issues as they arise
- Experience with planning and resourcing people and products, performance management, controlling labour costs and operating expenses
- Strong knowledge of all event operations from event servicing to logistics general duties while ensuring that the team remain compliant with all WHS and RSA policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability in developing productive relationships and managing and driving change
- Knowledge of hospitality software including Microsoft Office, Opera and Delphi preferred

With your exceptional attention to detail and event operations background, you will take pride in ensuring an unforgettable experience for our guests. Your ability to work collaboratively with a large and diverse team will set our Events Team up for success.
You will have extensive leadership experience within a high-volume event centre or hospitality venue with the ability to understand the demands and complexities of the events industry. You will have demonstrated the ability to plan controlled labour costs and operating expenses and have a good understanding of hospitality software such as Opera and Delphi.
