Job description

About Us

At Safe Places, it’s all about the young people.

Safe Places for Children leads the way in providing vulnerable young people, who exhibit complex emotional and behavioural problems, with intensive therapeutic support. Our approach is individualised and based on small, stable, and consistent teams that build trust with the young person, stabilise their behaviours and give them a sense of hope and direction, positively impacting many young lives.

Benefits

  • Generous salary packaging to increase your take home pay.
  • Annual anniversary bonuses (up to $5000 based on years of service).
  • Generous well-being offerings including 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.

About the Role

The Therapeutic Capability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a consistent therapeutic practice and workplace-based training to ensure required operational capability across our services. This will be a pivotal role in building the education, skills, knowledge, and competencies of the Operations workforce whilst overseeing the Therapeutic Practice teams.

The purpose of the role is to build a highly skilled wider team, through the embedding of trauma-informed therapeutic practice and its application of responding to pain-based behaviours exhibited by children and young people who have experience abuse and neglect, ongoing reflective practice, learning and development interventions and strategies that holistically embed therapeutic practices across all services in Operations.

To perform within our roles, Safe Places People and Capability Framework describes the necessary capabilities. We have three main groupings of capability: strategy, leadership, and service delivery. We believe mastering the routine and day to day of service delivery is incredibly important but recognise your value as extending beyond these key accountabilities. Our Therapeutic Capability Manager will be responsible to:

  • Lead, manage, inspire, and coach the large Therapeutic Practice team to enhance their capability and services to Operations that align with organisational goals and practices.
  • Provide expertise in assessment and therapeutic trauma-informed response to children and young people.
  • Demonstrate a high-level capability building through ensuring training and development needs across all teams are current and aligned to therapeutic governance and practices.

About You

Our Therapeutic Capability Manager will bring a genuine passion to making a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes, and demonstrated knowledge and experience.

Personable attributes will include:

  • You will be a dynamic and caring leader who thrives in an ever-changing environment who is deeply passionate about the mastery of therapeutic practices, allowing for high quality care for our young people.
  • You have demonstrated experience in leading and managing organisational wide development programs, that is both responsive and deeply embedded in evidence-based outcomes.
  • You will be a solution focused and pragmatic leader who operates within a continuous improvement lens with transferrable skills to manage our ever-growing workforce and transformational change.
  • Degree in Social Work or Psychology or a post graduate qualification in a health-related field

Working at Safe Places

In the heart of Safe Places, a harmonious blend of Unity, Support, Responsiveness, Passion, and Professionalism forms the very essence of who we are. When you join our team, you’re part of a community that prioritises integrity and professionalism and celebrates diversity. In all we do, we aim to foster an atmosphere of respect, collaboration, and mutual advancement. If this sounds interesting, come join us.
