OverviewThe Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.Child Protection Services (CPS) is a specialist multi-disciplinary health service in the Women's and Children's Hospital that provides a range of comprehensive forensic and clinical psychological services to support children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect.The WCH Foundation Cocoon Program is a dedicated clinic within CPS for infants under 12 months who are both medically and developmentally vulnerable some of whom are in out of home care, or at risk of entering out of home care. This is a pilot program funded through the WCH Foundation.The importance of the program is to provide one of the most vulnerable cohorts of babies in South Australia the highest possible coordinated health care in those critical early months of their life.The Cocoon team comprises of an Allied Health Clinical Coordinator, a Consultant Neonatologist, a General Paediatrician, a Senior Physiotherapist, an Infant Mental Health Therapist and an Admin Support Officer. The program aims to provide a cocoon around vulnerable infants experiencing medical and developmental complexities so that they can easily access a coordinated team to meet their healthcare needs.The OpportunityWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join the WCH Foundation Cocoon Program as an Infant Mental Health Therapist on a part time (up to 18.75 hrs per week), term contract basis, up to 16th May 2025.As the Therapist, you will provide a comprehensive specialist clinical therapy service, for infants and their carers referred to the WCH Foundation Cocoon Program.The Therapist will also contribute to the development of clinical practice in Child Protection Services, which promotes optimal delivery of clinical services to consumers.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will use your demonstrated clinical experience in the field of infant and child mental health and experience in the provision of therapeutic services to infants who present with trauma and/or attachment difficulties and present with developmental, emotional and/or behavioural disturbance and their carers.If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to negotiation, liaison and conflict resolution and the ability to develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, then this role is for you.To be eligible for this role you must hold an appropriate degree equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.To find out the specifics, including the key selection criteria and special conditions, please go to the attached role description.Benefits of Joining usNot only will you be able to use your skills and abilities in a both a challenging and rewarding role contributing to some of South Australia's most vulnerable women, babies, children and young people, you will also receive and attractive annual salary package with employer superannuation contributions and leave loading as well as the opportunity to maximise your salary through arrangements.Application InstructionsYou will be required to attach a 1-2 page cover letter addressing the key selection criteria of the role and a current résumé/curriculum vitae prior to clicking 'Submit Application'.
