Our vision is to be leaders in the delivery of parliamentary democracy and community engagement, guided by our three organisational values of integrity, excellence, and respect.

The Legislative Assembly has a positive, supportive work culture and is proud of its history as part of the first Parliament of Australia. You will be working in an organisation which is committed to providing excellent advice and support to all Members of the Legislative to enable them to fulfil their roles as elected representatives of the people of New South Wales.

The House and Procedure Unit

The House and Procedure business unit has three core functions including supporting the day-to-day operations of the sittings of the Legislative Assembly, providing advice on parliamentary law, procedure and practice to Members of the Legislative Assembly and other stakeholders, and providing support to Members of the Legislative Assembly, their staff, and visitors to Parliament House.

About the position

Parliamentary Officers, House and Procedure are the 'face' of the Legislative Assembly.  They conduct public and school tours of the Parliament, assist the public visiting the Parliament and on sitting days assist Members of Parliament in the Chamber.

Duties include delivering presentations to tour groups and conducting role plays for primary and secondary school groups, providing support services in the Chamber and in the Table Office on sitting days, providing professional and engaging reception services, and assisting in the administration of the Legislative Assembly.
