Naturaliste Tours, a subsidiary of Explore Australia Tours connects customers to amazing tourism and wildlife experiences across Victoria.

Explore Australia/Naturaliste Tours is part of the Victorian owned and operated Searoad Ferries group of companies, employing more than 200 people and moving around one million customers a year. 

Searoad Ferries have been operating the iconic Queenscliff-Sorrento car and passenger service since 1987. Searoad Ferries also operates Western Port Ferries connecting Stony Point to French Island and Phillip Island in Western Port Bay, and Wanderer Adventures – Wilsons Promontory Cruises.

The opportunity

The Tour Guide/Driver and Operations Assistant is a key member of the Explore Australia / Naturaliste Tours Operations Team and fulfils a range of duties to enhance the end-to-end customer experience by leading the team based at French Island and the Western Port Ferry Terminal.

They will work in partnership with other Tour Guides / Drivers, and the Head of Operations & Product Development to ensure safe operations and ensure that vehicles are always clean and operational. 

Their responsibilities include:

• familiarising customers with the locality
• ensuring groups always remain safe 
• inspiring customers thirst for adventure by conducting interesting and rugged, off-grid tours of French Island
• taking reservations and processing ticket sales through mobile EFT machines
• developing strong relationships with customers, agents, and partners
• ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience is had by all 
• maintaining and cleaning vehicles and equipment for tours
• ensuring safe loading / unloading of vehicles
• conducting customer safety briefings and performing

About you

We are looking for a vibrant, passionate, and captivating guide with the ability to lead & grow our Naturaliste Tours team.

You will have the ability to work autonomously and ensure our Companies policies relating to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests is always upheld.

You can demonstrate outstanding driving skills, will possess local insights, and be able to anticipate your guests needs to ensure our tours are exceptional every time. 

Minimum requirements for the position include:

• Current driver’s license with a minimum Light Rigid License (LR) or above
• Clean driving record
• Drivers Accreditation Certificate (which incorporates medical and police checks)
• Cash handling and EFTPOS experience
