We have a very small and intimate family like crew and our passengers love that warm family feeling when they jump onto the ferry... so do we.
We're running all year around but there is no secret that the summer is our busiest time of year and when we have the most amount of work available.
The business has 3 products we offer our customers
1 Ferry service between Williamstown, St Kilda and Port Melbourne- Currently operating Weekends and public holidays
2 Sunset Penguin Cruises- Currently running Wednesday-Sunday evenings
3 Private charters, transfers and functions
TOUR GUIDE/DECKHAND
St Kilda Ferry is looking for a Tour Guide/Deckhand to join our team. (Must have availibility over easter)
The role will commence in March, Hours will be 6-20 hrs. More hours may be available for the right candidate especially in the late spring and summer months.
Duties will include but not limited to:
● Onboard commentary and entertainment of passengers during Penguin Cruises
● Customer service
● Ticket sales and onboard purchase
● Working under direction of the Master and Operations Manager
● Maintenance and cleaning of the vessel
● Daily set up and pack down of ticket stand
● Safety briefings
● Lines work- tying up vessel and lowering and stowing of gangplanks
About you:
● Provides exceptional customer service by having excellent communication and interpersonalskills
● Demonstrates excellent public speaking skills
● Ability to engage with guests on a personal level
● Willingness and enthusiastic to learn and follow St Kilda ferry’s Operational proceduresincluding OH&S
● Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
● Ability to work harmoniously within a small team
● Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
● Be well presented and possess a friendly and professional approach
● Highly motivated and energetic - ready to learnEssential:
● Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
● Confidence in public speaking
● Hold or willing to obtain a Victorian RSA
