We are currently seeking Senior Track & Civil Engineers and Track and Civil Engineers to join the growing Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) team.
The roles provide technical expertise, assurance, and leadership on behalf of the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) related to Track and Civil Engineering (including all track related assets).
The role also includes the opportunity to lead Engineering Assurance and Design Review activities across the MTM program of works in support of the State Government “Big Build”. This includes providing assurance that all engineering documentation and designs meet MTM's obligations as an accredited Rail Transport Operator (RTO) and Rail Infrastructure Manger (RIM) under the Rail Safety National Law (RSNL).
This is a great opportunity to work with maintenance engineers, asset managers, and risk advisers to improve your knowledge and understanding of railways and all things track engineering. Key Areas of Responsibility
?
- Lead engineering activities to achieve good quality solutions/outcomes for passengers, employees and the MTM business aligned to MTM's strategic plan and business objectives.
- Lead technical assurance activities on behalf of the MTM Chief Engineer relating to Track and Civil Engineering including:
o Standards and technical documentation development
o Project scope, requirements and impact assessments
o Technical Investigations (where required)
- Lead in facilitating the efficient delivery of the MTM program of works in support of the State Government “Big Build,” including:
o Attend risk assessments, Safety in Design Reviews, and design workshops to identify, mitigate and review future risk
o Support the review of products and systems and make recommendations for their suitability
About You
- Have 3+ years' experience (or 5+ years for Senior Role) within Track, Civil, Drainage or Geotechnical engineering, design or maintenance is highly desirable
- Be a Registered Practicing Engineer - Victoria (RPEV), or be eligible for qualification
- Has knowledge and experience within the railway systems and operational design environment
- Demonstrated experience in writing and preparing technical reports
- Strong understanding of Safety in Design and risk assessments
- Has strong stakeholder management experience within a multi-disciplinary organisation
- Tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
