We have an amazing job available here at Homestyle Bake for an experienced Baker / Pastry Chef.

Homestyle Bake is a proud family owned and operated bakery with two large scale production plants located at Toowoomba and Molendinar on Gold Coast. We service retail, wholesale and food service customers daily with a variety of products. This role will offer you the chance to further develop your career in a dynamic longstanding bakery that cares about their employees and community. WHAT YOUR DAY WOULD LOOK LIKE:

Working in a supportive team environment, where some of the key activities would include: 

• Meeting daily production goals for a variety of baked goods.
• Ensuring correct mixing, proofing, baking and cooling of dough, quality control and minimisation of waste.
• Smooth and efficient running of the equipment.
• Provide training and guidance to non-Trade Qualified personnel.
• Availability for weekends and some public holidays. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Trade qualifications or equivalent recognised industrial experience, training or prior learning experience and/or skills are required. 
• Bakers must understand basic yeast doughs such as breads, rolls and buns.
• Pastry Chefs must understand laminated doughs such as croissants or puff pastry, and a broad range of cake batters, slices, and biscuit/cookie doughs.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Math or computer skills to recalculate recipes as needed and to produce the correct quantity of finished product.
• Understanding of food safety and professional hygiene.
