The Role
The role is as the office junior: assisting the legal assistants and administrative support with the view to management of your own files in due course. The role requires a friendly, outgoing, well-spoken, mature and responsible approach. You will gain experience and expertise across a broad range of conveyancing-related dealings, including:
- conveyancing A – Z;
- contract reviews;
- contract disputes;
- off-the-plan contracts;
- retirement villages; and
- water licences and allocations.
This is an entry level position, so no prior experience in the legal industry is necessary. The applicant must be computer literate; have sound literacy & numeracy skills; be able to touch type at a reasonable speed; have excellent attention to detail; good written English skills and a high level of comprehension.
A typical day in the role will include:
- Preparing legal correspondence and court documents;
- Client reporting;
- General administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, binding, etc;
- Dictation/typing;
- File management using our legal management software;
- Liaising with clients;
- Preparing and editing correspondence;
- Diary management;
- Point of contact for legal correspondence;
- Answering and directing calls;
- Word processing; and
- File maintenance.
Please note that this job is full-time Monday to Friday and in office only.
