Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) are excited to be able to offer opportunities to join an amazing workforce of Individual Support Workers through a traineeship. A traineeship will allow you to earn money while you work toward your qualification and learn from other professionals.
This is perfect for someone looking to kick start their career in support work, whether it be your first job or a career change.
About the roles
- Earn while you learn - gain your Certificate III in Individual Support and be paid for on and off the job training
- Part-time Traineeship (min. of 15 hours per week up to max of 37 hours - this is dependent on rostering and your availability)
- Paying $20.54 per hour (base rate)
- Up to $2,500 paid as part of the Apprentice Support Payment paid over 2 years, eligibility criteria must be met.
- Duties include supporting the elder to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence; Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the elder, through assessment and observation; Assist the elder/ with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence.
Eligibility & Essential Criteria
To be considered for one an ACA traineeship you should:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent Australian resident
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination x2 and Booster
- Proof of Influenza Vaccination
- Be willing to undertake formal training in Certificate III in Individual Support
- National Police Check, DHS Clearance or willingness to obtain
- If you already hold completed a Certificate III in Aged or Disability, you will not be eligible for the role

Leisure & Health Trainee
Under supervision the role of a Leisure and Lifestyle Trainee enhances the quality of life of each of Estia Health's residents through offering a comprehensive range of individual and group activities to promote social independence and interaction. You will assist in conducting assessments on existing activities and implementing new activities to meet the resident’s needs and desires. You will work with a collaborate team committed to continuous improvements for their residents and their families. Above all you will engage in practices that enhance the dignity and integrity of the resident’s independence.
About you:
- Genuine passion and interest in providing recreational activities within an Aged Care environment
- A valid Australian Drivers Licence
- Ability to be self-motivated and promote a positive work environment
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Fully vaccinated (including Booster) and Flu vaccination
- Must be willing to undertake formal training in CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
Kitchen-hand Trainee
This traineeship provides a fantastic opportunity to develop fundamental kitchen skills under the guidance of experienced professionals, setting the stage for a fulfilling career in the culinary arts.
In these roles you would perform a range of specialist cooking roles such as planning and preparing food. You may also undertake the following:
- Assist in basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Learn under the mentorship of experienced chefs.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Embrace opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth.
To be considered for a Kitchen Operations Traineeship the following is required:
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Enthusiasm for the culinary industry.
- Basic understanding of kitchen processes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Covid Vaccinations + Booster and Flu Vaccination (prepared to gain)
