About the role
AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Trainer/Assessor to join our team at our head office located close to the action of Perth Airport. Training duties would be expected 3 weeks of each month, either in Perth or in regional and remote areas as required, primarily within WA.
You will facilitate various courses in accordance with the AMS Registered Training Organisation (RTO) policies and procedures and provide consultancy services to aerodromes and airports regarding maintaining CASA and other regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications and Previous Experience:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards)
- AVISS00053 Aerodrome Reporting Office Skill Set + demonstrated maintenance of currency
- Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate
- High level conflict management, interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using technical and professional knowledge and/or experience inline with AMS policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook (emails and calendar management), Teams, Sharepoint.
- Self-driven with demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise activities, and manage own workload to ensure effective management of tasks, deadlines and outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a team member when required.
- Demonstrated previous technical writing experience including (but not limited to) reports, policies, procedures, manuals, safe working procedures and plans.
- Excellent presentation skills, including ability to present short courses online.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the current Part 139 MOS, and associated legislation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASQA Standards, and associated legislation.
- Demonstrated understanding of validation practices, unpacking units of competency, including designing course content (PowerPoint presentations, session plans, learner resources, online content.
- Demonstrated previous experience across the following disciplines – Airport Management, Quality Assurance, Operations Compliance, Risk Management and Policy Procedure Protocol.
- It is a mandatory requirement of this position for the employee to hold and maintain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
- Ability to provide a National Police Clearance record.
Desirable Experience:
- Delivering courses to small groups – both face-to-face and online
- Delivery of Aircraft Safety Refuelling training or similar
- Developed level of project management skills and experience.
