About the Role
The Transmission Infrastructure Project Development Manager(referred to as Project Development Manager internally) will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of development projects, from preliminary works up until commercial close and handover to delivery.
Here at Ausnet we are the link between renewable energy sources and local communities. This role will play an integral part in the coordination of a broad and multidisciplinary team of high performing professionals in ensuring opportunities are converted into investments.
The key to success in this role is to successfully execute preliminary and early works agreements along with delivering the contracted scope such as agreed PWA and EWA Deliverables. You will be executing customer contracts that will be a key contribution to the contracted asset base.
This role will report to the Senior Project Development Manager and is located in Melbourne.

What you will deliver
- The delivery of the infrastructure services Early Works and bid development projects within the allocated budgets in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The role involves managing project teams of multidisciplinary internal and external resources. A typical Early Works team consists of engineering, procurement, commercial, property, planning, environment, stakeholder and regulatory resources
- Development of project execution plans including timelines, costs, risk assessments communication of project financials and progress reports in a consistent manner across the assigned projects
- Provide leadership in developing sound relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Manage, track and report on the progress of assigned projects through to financial close and the execution of contracts with clients
- Management of contracts and contractors, requisitions, orders and invoices associated with projects
- Work with stakeholders (i.e. customers, contractors, suppliers and internal business units) to identify business improvement opportunities that can help meet business objectives
- Assist the Portfolio Development Director and Senior Project Development Managers on infrastructure growth related matters as required
- Contribute to a Recordable Injury Frequency Rate targets and missionZero health & safety conversation targets
What we like about you
- A tertiary qualification in Project Management or Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in a similar position within the utilities or similar industry
- Demonstrated management of a number of projects simultaneously from conception to implementation and realisation of program objectives
- Has demonstrated extensive knowledge of key market drivers, industry players and latest developments within energy markets as related to renewable energy and major load projects
- Proven experience in scheduling of complex Infrastructure Projects and advanced use of MS project and/or Primavera
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts for both procurement & provision of services with a focus on risk management and value exchange
- Proven ability to manage large matrix and virtual teams including functions such as legal, finance, engineering consultants, etc
- Ability to engage at General Manager/Exec level with superior written and verbal communication skills
