The position 

An exciting employment opportunity now exists for a Compliance Officer at our Villawood depot.

 This full-time, permanent position will suit a highly focused and organised individual who pride themselves on always delivering a high level of excellence in their work. The role is to support the operations team in the area of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality as well as some degree of training support. 

The candidate 

With an uncompromising commitment to safety, high attention to detail, the successful team member would be able to work autonomously or within a close team environment and have a professional approach to all tasks required of the role. The successful applicant must have had previous experience in a similar role.

The successful applicant will part of a team responsible for:                                                                       

  • Maintaining our safety and training management system 
  • Preparation of relevant documentation & paperwork 
  • Conduct job site safety and compliance inspections, safety hazard analysis and work procedures.
  • Undertake incident investigations and provide corrective actions and/or further recommendations. 
  • Fatigue management compliance and adherence 
  • Provide Safety updates and attend Toolbox meetings. 
  • Arrange medical bookings, Induction process and onboarding of new employees. 
  • Liaise with client and internal key management. 
  • Ensure timely completion of HSEQ reporting to the management team.
  • Perform internal and external audits. 

The successful candidate needs to have the below attributes: 

  • Willing to undergo pre employment medical and drug and alcohol. 
  • Passionate and highly motivated 
  • Actively promote a safe workplace 
  • Reliable, approachable, punctual with a professional attitude 
  • Experience in conducting safety inspections, assessments and audits. 
  • Able to work unsupervised, process after hours calls from time to time. 
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced experience in Word, document writing and safety systems.
  • Sound planning, prioritizing and good time management.   
  • Experienced working knowledge of safety legislation, standards, compliance and risk management

  • Transport & logistics 
  • Understanding of COR
  • State and legislative experience 
  • HACCP Experience
