Colas Australia is part of the Colas Group which includes over 65,000 staff worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to join our team based in Yatala.
The Role
In the newly created role of Transport & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for our Queensland Transport Operations reporting to the Regional Manager. The appointment of the role is attributed to ongoing expansion of Colas operations within the region. You will play a vital role in ensuring all Heavy Vehicle related activities meet business outcomes & are in accordance with relevant laws & regulations.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Overall supervision & management of all resources involved in Colas QLD Transport & Logistics operations, including plant, human & external or subcontract resources.
- Optimising financial performance through the efficient utilisation of Colas QLD heavy vehicle fleet, monitoring & controlling of costs, & ensuring suitable subcontractor management processes are in place.
- Ensuring Colas Transport & Logistics operations comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental legislative requirements, including Heavy Vehicle National Law & Chain of Responsibility.
- Coordinating with Workshop teams to facilitate maintenance activities related to Colas Heavy Vehicle fleet.
- Adopting a continuous improvement approach, developing processes, and implementing practices that support positive change within the Colas QLD Transport & Logistics operations.
- Demonstrating support of Colas Qld Road mission, values & commitment to the highest safety, environmental & quality performance.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Transport/ Logistics or relevant experience
- Extensive experience in Transport Management within construction or surfacing industries
- Proven change management expertise in large organisations
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills
- Ability to travel to sites throughout Queensland as required
