St John Ambulance (Vic) has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for compassionate Transport Officers - Deceased Persons to support our partnership with the Coroners Court of Victoria.

The Opportunity

At St John Ambulance (Vic) we work together with the Coroners Court of Victoria providing transport services of deceased person in the Melbourne metropolitan region and surrounds as well as repatriation services to regional Victoria.
  
The role involves working as part of a partnership with a crew member (collections from place of death) or individually during a repatriation. The role involves working a rotational roster, 8-10 hour shifts. During these shifts you will be activated as required for a collection or planned repatriations.

Your experience

• Demonstrated experience working with Deceased Persons and associated stakeholders including family members
• Demonstrated professional and respectful approach when handling and transporting Deceased Persons
• A high level of resilience, professional presentation, and good communications skills (verbal and nonverbal)
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality when dealing with highly confidential information
• Understanding and experience with OHS and manual handling procedures
• Have a current driver’s license with safe driving record
