ABOUT THE ROLE
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable & payable function of the company, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, prepare and process accurate and timely invoices to customers
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely collection of payments
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts
- Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Match purchase orders with invoices and verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN BRING
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advantageous)
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Preferred experience using Creditor Watch and MachShip (Transport Management System)
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
