Norco is seeking an enthusiastic, punctual and reliable Transport Supervisor with a great work ethic to join the team on a permanent, full time basis. Reporting to the Senior Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision of drivers and the day-to-day activities within the Transport and Logistics department during your shift.
Predominately working overnight at our Labrador site, you will be the first point of contact for drivers, distributors and customers ensuring service is of the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Transport Department during your shift.
- Identify, assess, evaluate and control risk and cost reduction opportunities within regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory compliance monitoring and documentation of transport activities and equipment.
- Effective communication and supervision of transport staff.
- Manage HVNL, CoR and WH&S compliance and performance.
- Identify and facilitate training requirements of staff.
- Understand major customer requirements, communicating with internal and external customers to resolve major customer service issues.
- Build internal and external customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for cost improvements.
- Effective management of labour and operational costs and incoming and outgoing transport costs.
- Collaborate on opportunities to improve supply chain integration within the business and with key customers.
- Comply and exceed on HACCP/CoR/WH&S and legislative requirements.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement focused on maximising efficiencies, problem solving and teamwork.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:
- Experience working in a similar role within Logistics/Transport within the FMCG industry.
- Truck licence (Unrestricted MC) and clean driving record.
- Forklift licence essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive approach to safety and quality.
- Good PC (Word and Spreadsheet) and systems skills such as MRP and SAP, including report preparation.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- A proactive approach and solutions focussed.
- Ability to foster continuous improvement.
- Strong coordination skills and supporting follow-up techniques to ensure service KPI’s are met.
