About the Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a creative, innovative, and meticulous individual with relevant experience relating to tree inspections, Tree Management and maintenance programs to join the infrastructure team as the Tree Management Officer.
Reporting to the Open Space Lead, the Tree Management Officer will be responsible for tree and open space activities to maintain safe and high-quality open spaces and delivery of a range of programs and services that contribute to the City of Palmerston Community Plan, which include:
- Tree Risk Management Plan
- Street Tree Maintenance Program
- Customer Service
- Tree Planting and Verge Improvement Programs
- Sustainability Strategy
- Urban Forest Policy
- Play Space Strategy
The role will also co-ordinate and supervise relevant works, including contractors, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, contract specifications, Australian Standards and Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements.
About You
We are looking for a person with relevant tertiary qualification in Arboriculture, Horticulture or related discipline as well as relevant work experience relating to tree inspections, Tree Management and maintenance programs. Sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements, ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including residents, community groups, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders. Effective written and computer skills, including document preparation, tree inspection reporting, correspondence, data collection and analysis.
